On January 31, 2025, a significant event took place at the Santa Cruz Manpower Training and Assessment Center (SCMTAC) as Director Adones F. Culas, the TESDA Provincial Director of Davao Del Sur, paid a courtesy visit to the center and conducted an ocular inspection. The event was attended by various key personnel from TESDA and SCMTAC, highlighting the ongoing commitment to enhancing skills training and development in the region.
* 𝐎𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐭 𝐒𝐂𝐌𝐓𝐀𝐂
The ocular inspection was an opportunity for Director Culas and his team to assess the facilities and infrastructure of SCMTAC. Joining him on the visit were Miss Wena Tenio, the Supervising TESD Specialist; Miss Luzyle Corcuera, the UTPRAS Focal Person; Mary Grace B. Florentino, the CCNTS Center Administrator; and Fausto Barrete, the PTC Center Administrator. The group was warmly welcomed by SCMTAC Administrator, Miss Maria Cheryl D. Serenatas, and the dedicated personnel of SCMTAC, including Janica Rose A. Calipes and Ariel N. Vivas.
During the inspection, the TESDA team thoroughly examined the various training areas, equipment, and resources available at SCMTAC. The purpose of the visit was to ensure that the center is equipped to meet the growing demand for technical-vocational skills training in the region, and to identify potential areas for improvement and expansion.

Following the ocular inspection, Director Culas and his team proceeded to the office of the Honorable Mayor Jose Nelson Z. Sala, Sr. of Santa Cruz. There, they engaged in a productive discussion regarding the future plans for skills training and development in the municipality. The meeting emphasized the importance of collaboration between TESDA and the local government to ensure that Santa Cruz continues to provide high-quality training opportunities to its residents.
The discussions covered various aspects of skills training, including the development of new programs, the improvement of existing ones, and the creation of opportunities for local youth and adults to acquire the skills necessary for employment and livelihood. Both TESDA and the local government expressed their commitment to working together to address the community's needs and further enhance the region’s workforce readiness.
